Support to Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students and Families
Our school values Non-Chinese Speaking Students, our students come from various countries such as Korea, Pakistan, the USA, Canada, Philippine, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, India, Netherland, and Australia. Therefore the school provides different strategies to support students, for example, the school has a specific teacher to assist NCS, and the learning materials used are from HKU Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in Kindergartens in Hong Kong: Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing. Moreover, the school joins the scheme of QEF Thematic Network: Utilizing ‘Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework for Non-Chinese Speaking Children in Kindergarten in Hong Kong’ for Effective Chinese Learning in 2019-2020.
7 teachers and our principal of the school have already completed the regconised course in supporting the learning of NCS students in local setting.
The school advocate learning through play, and learning Chinese is not only learned by copying, but to learn through play and music. There is a culture week for NCS and local students to learn, respect, and appreciate others' cultures.
