Parent Workshop “Grasping the Skills of Parent-Child Reading, Enhancing Children’s Reading and Writing Skills”
Thank the student teachers from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood and Family Studies of the Education University of Hong Kong, arranging the “Grasping the Skills of Parent-Child Reading, Enhancing Children’s Reading and Writing Skills” Parent Workshop to our parents, helping parents understand the principles of choosing a picture book and the practical skills of parent-child reading, including using questions, extending the conversation, expanding the response etc. Through this workshop, parents were able to grasp the interactive parent-child reading, helping children establish the good habit of reading.
Parents were satisfied about the arrangement of the workshop and they would utilise what they had learnt and reading together with their child, enhancing their language ability, as well as nurturing a good habit of reading, building the foundation of life-long learning.
