We are grateful that our whole school parent-child trip has completed successfully on 28th Apr. There were more than 200 participants, including children, parents, and staff, participating with excitement.
Learning Chinese Culture - Intangible Cultural Heritage
We took the shuttle buses to the Sam Tung Uk Museum located in Tseung Wan, learning Chinese culture further with their first hand experience. This was the first time children going to the museum.
Sam Tung Uk Museum was a Hakka ancient walled house built more than 200 years ago, which the life of the Hakka people was reappeared in the museum. Children were stunned by the old buildings and they were curious that they went visiting the exhibitions room after room.
During the process, we have learnt about the word “Intangible Cultural Heritage”, which means things that we cannot touch, like our memory or skills. For example, the skills of singing Chinese opera, the skills of making umbrellas, lion dance, and other local heritages.
Both children and parents enjoyed the activity with the introduction from the tour guide so that we could learn more about the heritages.
Making Stuffed Tea Cake Together, Enjoying Sweet Parent-Child Moment
We went to Tai Tong Organic EcoPark at noon, children and parents making stuffed tea cake together, enjoying the local cuisine. In the afternoon, we went into the nature, enjoying the time spending in the countryside, such as appreciating the view, plants and animals, making sand bottle, blowing soap bubbles and riding family bicycle. What a nice and happy trip!
